The 27th annual Resolutions 2003 was held at the Rock-A-Hoola Water Park, formerly known as Discovery Water Park, in Newberry Springs, Ca. Steve headed up Thursday for the Thursday Night roll-in. Steve arrived at about 8pm to find out that there were no other club members there yet. Shortly after Steve arrived he got a phone call from Joker, another club member. Joker said that the Motor home that Him and Steve were planning on using the whole weekend had not been returned to the rental place and that the previous renters were planning on keeping it a couple of more days. Joker said that they had another one that he could rent and that it still needed to be cleaned out and that the rental place would let him pick it up at 9am Friday morning. Joker arrived to pick up the Motor home around 10am. Come to find out that there was a lack of communication in the office of the rental place and that they had just rented it out to someone else and it had just left. Keep in mind Joker had paid for everything the day before. Meanwhile Steve is at Reso. Steve had planned on staying in the Motor home with Joker and his wife Julie. Joker and Julie were going to supply the Motor home, a warm place to sleep, food, and a hot shower. Steve would share the expenses. Steve only brought the bare necessities to the run. A sleeping bag, a blanket, a case of soda, a case of beer, 2 bags of chips, clothes, and his truck! Steve ended up sleeping in his truck and freezing his ass off Thursday night. Steve woke up Friday morning to learn from Joker that he still had not located a Motor home. Steve had chips and soda for breakfast. Joker called around and was still unable to locate a Motor home! Donald, another club member headed up to Reso about 2pm. Donald had learned about Steve's predicament and offered to stop in Barstow to pick up some food for him. Donald stop at McDonald's and picked up a couple of Big Mac's and headed to Reso! Meanwhile, Joker was still trying to find a Motor home, by this time it was about 5pm! Joker called Steve and told him that he wasn't coming up on Friday because he was going to have to go home and pack all of his camping supplies and that he wouldn't get there late and didn't want to set up his tent in the dark and that they would come up first thing Saturday morning. Steve asked Joker to bring a towel for him because he forgot to pack one so he could take a shower when they got there. Donald arrived at Reso about 4pm and him and Steve set up Donald's tent. Steve spent Friday night in his truck, Donald had an extra blanket so Steve was a little bit warmer. Steve got up 7:15am and rolled his truck into the show area and cleaned his truck. Steve went back to camp at about 11:30am to learn from Donald that Joker and Julie had not yet arrived. Joker called Steve at about noon to let him know that him and Julie were on there way! Joker, Julie, and Sara arrived at about 2pm. Joker unload his truck and set up camp. Julie and Sara offered to give Steve a ride back into town to get something to eat at about 3pm. They went up to Jack-In-the-Box right outside Barstow. Steve finally had something to eat and was feeling a little better about the situation. Steve got back to camp and asked Joker if he had remembered to bring a towel and Joker said that he didn't bring one. So here it is Saturday evening and Steve has not had a shower since Thursday morning, he has been cold and hungry for the better part of 2 days! What else could go wrong! Well the rest of the time went pretty good. Joker and Julie cooked up some carne asada Saturday night and everybody got drunk to the music of the DJ. Sunday morning was the raffle and trophy presentation. Steve won 1st place in Closed Bed Stock. Steve was also a winner in the raffle drawing winning a pair of speakers, $20 cash, and a free headliner from Killer Customs. Feeling sorry for the ordeal Steve had gone through the whole weekend, Joker and Julie bought Steve lunch at the Olive Garden in Victorville on the way home. Another Reso in the history books!
