Getting it all together 97'
Greetings all. Donald here.
The council run this year was a bit small, but it was still a good time. This year's council run was held at Robin's Nest park in Acton, CA. It's a bit of a drive but it's a killer little park. It has the advantage of being out in the middle of nowhere, so it's kinda hard to piss of the neighbors. As usual just Shawn and I made it. We got to the park about 10 PM Friday night and after a very short wait in line, we were in. We found a nice grassy place to camp. Once we got the camp set up we proceeded to sit there and freeze our asses off. It had to be like 30 degrees out. A couple of hours later, the guys from Unlimited Dreams camped next to us and showed us their definition of partying. Needless to say we didn't get to sleep until pretty late. But never fear, Shawn and I were up at the butt-crack of dawn to put our trucks in the show.
Saturday during the show they had all of the usual games and first class DJing by Hi-Speed productions. Later that night they had the Bikini contest and the powers that be proclaimed that it was "Skin to Win". Oh yeah. Needless to say I was up front against the fence with my camera.
Anyway, that night we partied it up some more with the guys from Unlimited Dreams, danced up at the stage and generally froze out asses off. Did I mention that it was cold? On sun we went to the award presentation, found out that we didn't win anything, and then got the hell out of dodge. All in all it was a good time and I eagerly look forward to next year's Council Run.
